SCUBA 4-day Open Water Dive course (By Invite Only)
The course will be run by Hidden Depths Dive school and will involve the first two days in the pool at Thornbury Leisure centre with the next two days taking place at the open water dive site at Cromhall Quarry. Once certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, the children will be qualified to dive all over the world to a maximum depth of 18m. Starting with some home study before the course to learn dive theory, they will then take part in pool sessions to develop further dive skills, finally, everything comes together with four open water dives to practice skills in a realistic dive setting and build confidence ahead of future adventures as a qualified scuba diver. The fun part about this course is... well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible!
To sign up for this PADI Open Water Diver course, your child must be: 10 years or older, be able to swim 200m, be able to tread water for 10 minutes, be able to dedicate 10-12 hours of home study prior to the course to complete the PADI Open Water Diver eLearning (included in the course fee), complete a medical declaration form, which may need signing by a physician if your child has any pre-existing medical conditions. By signing up to the SCUBA course, you agree for Mojo Active to share your contact details with the SCUBA school, Hidden Depths, who will email you pre-course material.
The cost of the course includes return transport to and from the venues from our site in Almondsbury, all course material, tuition, SCUBA equipment (including wet-suits) and certification. On all 4 days the children will need a towel, swimwear, packed lunch, drinks and snacks. Also £1 for the locker on the 2x pool days. There will be some time spent at Mojo prior to leaving for the pool/quarry, so children should dress for outdoor activities in addition to bringing swimwear.
We also offer the option for extended hours at additional cost: an extra £4.50 per day from 8 - 9am / an extra £8.50 per day from 4 - 6pm
We also offer a Minibus service (£4.50 each way per day) from the Café on the Downs departing at 9am and dropping off at 4.30pm or from Bristol Grammar School (top of Elton Road in the Bus stop) departing at 8.45am and dropping off at 4.45pm.
